To The Moon Alice!

As I sit in my 400 sf home in Chile's Colchagua Valley, I have plenty of time, and more importantly, desire, to escape the family of 5 with their 4 dogs living in another 400 sf townhome connected to mine. As the mother YELLS, and yes, I mean yells at the kids to get up and get ready for school, I lay in bed and cringe.
When the mother and kids aren't thoroughly causing an annoyance, I have the "Noise Neighbors" next door. Don't get me wrong, living here is really quite nice for many things. I have, however, completely changed my mind as to the lack of quality the apartments in the States have. In comparison to here, the apartments there are like the best insulated places in the world. With all this being explained, I now come to the focus of this post. ESCAPE!! I'm not speaking of going on a long vacation. I mean... the solitude of sitting on a planet or moon Millions of miles
from everything. That's right, I mean like the cool depictions of retro futurism.

In this post you will find just a couple of the many examples of futuristic events that were to have occurred by our day (today), and how different our lives should have been. The funny thing is, is that when I start looking at and reading about retro futurism, I find that many say things like "the future never looked so good, and probably never will". This, in many ways, seems to be the truth. As far as living on other planets goes, at least. For me, moving half-way around the world provided sufficient issues and discomforts. I really can't imagine living on another planet. However, I'd do just about anything to get away from these "Noisy Neighbors"!

To see a large number of retro futurism images, simply step into the transport beam. Here you will also find a good deal of history, as well as a measuring of sorts as to how far the future has come. I also encourage you to check out Plan 59, a site with a number of cool retro futurism images, as well as other cool mid-century ads.
