Flooded but here.

As you may, or may not have seen. We here in the East are struggling to get back to some kind of normality. We worked for 24hrs straight syphoning and wetvacing water out of my in-laws basement. We also had to rip out all the laminate flooring and dig drainage trenches to make sure the next day of rain didn't come into the house again. So, all in all, we survived with relatively little damage here in our area. However, there are 160 roads in this county alone that are out. Bridges and asphalt no longer reside where they once did. I mean, even Six Flags is underwater.

The world, however, does still exist even if we do have to boil water. Some of my friends have it much worse as their homes are filled with water to their ceiling. As of now, I am still working to put my in-laws house in order. Then I will get back to showing you guys my new work, and some vintage finds that we dug out of my in-laws that I didn't even know existed.

To that end however, I am going to say bye, and I hope you are all well.

Oh, that's awful! I thought we were suffering over here with our triple-digits heatwave, but you've got in much, much worse. I'll be thinking of you all. Hope things get better soon.

It's kinda difficult here. We still don't have clean water, a number of roads are still closed, and a bunch of people really have lost everything. Our insurance agent told us that 1/3 of all flood claims were made by people who didn't even live in a flood plain. As of today we have more flash flood warnings. Oh joy of joys!

I've been away from my computer for a while and didn't now. I hope things get better. I'm impressed about your art, etsy shop and stuff despite the bad times. You're tuff, and as of the water, in Colombia you need to boil tap water everyday in order to drink it. Hope that gives you a little hope and helps you see things a bit more positively, despite the water.

I'll keep you all in mind.

V, for us it's been more of a hassle than anything. However, some of our friends really have lost everything. So, we try to give them encouragement and anything that we can that they may need. Some are looking thru some of our unused clothing, kitchen supplies and general things like that. For the most part, everyone that I have met seems to be dealing with it okay.
